Hopefully nothing bad will happen to her. She is just being nice and helping others. Also she tries to spy for Othello, but she doesn’t know why Othello even needs her to do so. She tries to help Iago, by giving him the handkerchief, when she doesn’t know why he even needs it. What i mean by that is that she is just a very kind person that is actually unaware of what she is doing. I personally feel that Emilia is on nobody’s side. You also really question why Desdemona on why she is not just confronting Othello, asking for the reason for his anger.

You really start to feel mad at Othello, at his stupidity and ignorance. This is kinda sad because this shows how innocent Desdemona is, as she is very loyal even though Othello is treating her with no respect at all, demanding for her handkerchief. Instead of questioning it, Desdemona assumes that Othello is just angry at political things. Through this scene we see that despite Othello’s abnormal anger and frustration towards Desdemona, she is completely unaware of the reason behind his anger. Personal Relation: Character Development of Desdemona Cassio asks her for a favour to copy the pattern of a mysterious handkerchief he found in his room. As she leaves, the prostitute Bianca comes in and tells Cassio to visit her more often. She tells him to wait as she goes to get Othello to talk with Cassio. Right as Othello leaves, Cassio shows up and continues his conversation for Desdemona’s help towards granting him a second chance with Othello. After screaming at her, Othello is out of hope, and storms off with anger and frustration. Still unable to find the handkerchief, the enraged Othello demands Desdemona to give it to her. Othello then proceeds to tell Desdemona a story about the handkerchief, which scares her.

Desdemona says she has the handkerchief but is unable to bring it out for Othello to see. He then tells Desdemona to give him her handkerchief that she lost. Othello then enters the scene, clearly irritated, and starts to insult Desdemona. In this 4th scene of the 3rd Act of Othello Desdemona notices that she had lost her handkerchief and brings it up with Emilia. This image shows how crazy Othello is in this scene, demanding and screaming at Desdemona for the handkerchief.
